The founder of this group graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Extractive Metallurgy and Mineral Processing. He worked for 20 years in various process and manufacturing roles with a major metals company and another 10 years with various secondary aluminum companies. He played an increasing role providing technical and operational support of various environmental challenges including MACT and its related reporting in various states over 8 of those last 10 years. The last 5 years included a major role in plant level environmental training and support systems plus some major 6 Sigma based studies on options with air pollutant reductions to meet tighter MACT testing requirements. Additionally I developed systems to optimize the injection system design and materials to reduce landfill costs working hands-on with individual worksites and processes. Since 2007, I have partnered with 2 stack testing groups to develop a plant based improvement model for dioxin and HAP controls to the tighter testing standards by EPA. These tighter testing standards include using worst case scrap scenerios, not “typical” plant blends as was used in the 2003 time frame. Over the last 2 years, we have successfully implemented optimized treatment systems to pass failed tests or reduce injection materials at 3 different companies. Environmental support is approximately 50% of our business. We also provide ISO and TS quality services and training and part-time 6 Sigma support services for other companies. I utilize the 6 Sigma Tollgate process to enhance customer communications on the project side.
